Open since 1964, when Richard Bartinsdale constructed a bunch of bookcases outside the house, and put out a couple of cans to use the honor system. Bart’s continues to be one of the best bookstores ever!

Completed in 1917, designed by Meade and Requa, the tower was modeled after a Christopher Columbus cathedral in Havana Cuba with a few other details thrown in. Part of the Libby rebuild of the city of Ojai
In 1923, Edward Drummond Libbey, a wealthy Ohio glass manufacturer and philanthropist, and some might say, the Father of Ojai, commissioned California architect Wallace Neff to build the Ojai Country Club in the Spanish Colonial architectural style. Today it’s hard to find the original building amongst the massive new buildings. But this painting is part of the original club.
